Q-Facies: A tool for the quantitative interpretation of groundwater hydrochemical facies

This article presents Q-Facies, an open-source Python package for quantitative analysis of hydrochemical facies (HF). HF is widely used to interpret the chemical characteristics groundwater. However, it difficult analyse its spatial or temporal variability due qualitative nature and small number classes. To avoid these limitations, Q-Facies performs parametrization based on calculation five statistical indices Piper diagram: Blau, Standard Distance, Area, Shape Orientation indices. The latter two allow identification ongoing facies-modifying phenomena. software relies standard libraries, available as a GitHub repository.
